Let me get this out of the way right now… when they announced the 2 minute timer for Pro Skater 4, I was bummed sure but I was not up in arms and furious about it like others were. But I have no hesitation saying the pro skater 4 career suffers a lot from shortcuts to fit the 2 minute format. I love some of the new characters in the game that have made an impact in the skate world in the recent years such as Andy, Yuto, Rayssa and so much more! The levels with the new engine and physics feel really awesome! There are a lot of more fun ways to get super high scores and combos. With spine transfers, acid drops, straightening out, wallrideable walls, additional grinds, these levels are so much more fun to play in. I also appreciate that the developers took the initiative to design 3 new levels! Waterpark is honestly better than I thought it was gonna be, movie studio I wasn’t a huge fan of but I respect the effort, pinball was almost a great level but the pinballs that go around being collidable and ruining your combos really takes away for it being a great level. I also like the details that went into the game plus mode. Adding new challenges but also giving players the option to get a platinum medal in contest levels as well as a goal to complete. Something I can also appreciate is how close some of the complex challenges tasks are. HOWEVER, there are challenges that I think are worded incorrectly that took me a while to figure out. There are some challenges with 2 to 3 parts to it that the goal text does not at all explain so your left to figure it out for yourself which can make for a very frustrating time for completing the levels. For those who were not happy with the pro skater 4 thing, there are a few challenges in the pro skater 4 career that really feel like a slap in the face to longtime fans. There are certain lines and obstacles that don’t line up well. So many people have said that this is 1+2 with new levels and challenges. There is nothing wrong with that per say, but the issue is the developers didn’t fix any issues that were in 1+2, the create a skater in pretty much a copy and paste. AndyTHPS said something very accurate that I think most people would say about this game… it’s good, but not what we wanted. It’s still fun to play and I’ll definitely be on it for a while. But when problems add up quickly, it becomes a bit disappointing, frustrating or kind of leave you with a meh feeling. But all that said, it’s nice to get a somewhat new game that will leave players busy for a while and have some nostalgia! If you enjoyed 1+2, you’ll enjoy this game! If you’re someone who is expecting a 100% accurate remake of 3 and 4 with career, challenges and brand new ideas, this isn’t the game for you.

The original 1995 Jumanji is my favourite Robin Williams movie ever made. So when I heard they they were doing a remake/sequel to it, I was not on board at all. I thought it was just an idea to make money off a popular movie title. But I did what I usually do and went opening night and gave it chance. And I was in utter shock at how much I enjoyed it! I thought the idea of teenagers going into Jumanji as a video game was great. But when I heard that Welcome to the Jungle was getting a sequel, again, was not on board at all. Went to see opening night, and again, shocked how much I enjoyed it! This movie did something different. Unlike the first one where it stayed in the Jungle, this one they actually travel to different levels of the video game. With different objectives to get through the game. The Rock's impression of Danny Devito never got old. And Jack Black as fridge to me was the funniest part of the movie. The action is just as enjoyable and the CGI for the most looked very good! One thing I really loved about it was they fixed one of the problems I had with Welcome to the jungle in regards to the villain. In welcome to the jungle, there were scenes where it was just the villain and his group talking about their plan when the players weren't around which isn't how a video game works because in a video game, you are always in the perspective of your character. That is fixed in The Next Level. Every time we see the villain of the movie, it's an encounter with the characters. I mentioned how I never wanted more movies, but this movie has a post credit scene... and for the first time in this series, this actually made me want to see another one because I think they could do something really creative with what they're going with. Overall Jumanji The Next Level is a great follow up to Welcome to the Jungle! I don't think it's as good but it is funnier. You will have a lot of fun with this movie and one I will be buying when it comes out on DVD!
