The acting is good. Omar is always good in any film, real natural. Julie is a bit of a stiff. A better choice could have been made, someone a bit mor sensual. The story is … well after seeing Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy… this film seems too superficial. There is no depth to it. But still has good entertainment value.

Technically a beautiful movie to see. Wonderful music, photography, acting. But the fever pitch is just exhausting. Two hours and eleven minutes! Frantic pace. His personality as portrayed is not that interesting. I would have preferred a movie about his style of conducting, the music he wrote and his methods as an artist. 3/5.

This movie is a very negative and an insulting view of an Italian American family in Queens NYC. The characters are portrayed as crude and mean spirited. The women are without any femininity. The men only care about money and jobs. Family life is a contest of insults. There are soft spots as it relates to their talented son. Hes very good at basketball. No family values for education, culture, self improvement. This is nothing to write a movie about. How insulting.
