I love love love 28 days later. I like like like 28 weeks later. I hate hate hate 28 years later. This movie has no reference to the first 2 movies. The movie doesn't follow any of the first two movie's world folklore. It has unreasonable plot twists and the last 5 minutes with its Power Ranger spin-off cliff hanger, was bizarre, even for a movie with no logical character moves.
