It was so bad that I couldn’t even finish it. I stopped halfway, hoping it might get better, but I had to pause and check some reviews to see if it was just me. Finally, I ended up fast-forwarding to the ending, just to see if it would redeem itself—and it didn’t. I get what they were trying to do, but it just didn’t work. Right from the first 15 seconds, I could tell the husband was shady. Her snooping around felt forced, and the character’s actions didn’t add up. Why is she portrayed as this fragile woman who can’t stand up for herself when she’s clearly capable? It didn’t make any sense. It reminded me of The Open House on Netflix—another movie with so much potential, yet ultimately disappointing. It’s frustrating that movies like this get made, while so many amazing, original books would translate beautifully to film but are overlooked. Perhaps it’s a filler movie to watch when folding laundry or working out too. If it’s this movie versus another movie you wanna watch. Please go with the other movie instead if this one. Yeah! It’s that bad. What’s also annoying is it’s so dimly lit that you can’t see in certain scenes because it’s so dark on the tv. Basically, skip right over this.
