I have only seen the 1st alien. Watching this after never seeing the other movies (Heard they were bad), got me very excited. I loved all the characters. The cast is very diverse. Let me break down what I enjoyed. Note I am not a movie buff. (Spoilers) Beginning- the finding of the og alien was dope! It makes sense that even space could not kill it. After who knows how long it was encased in ice, space dust, rock or metal? - Face huggers Omg! I love these things, I find them so cool and scary. From only seeing the one from the 1st alien movie; it was so cool to see multiples of them. - My babies!! The Alien (Xenomorph) Are they truly the bad guys? They just wanna eat and have more family members. One saved Raine from almost dying. (I'm being silly obviously) - Nightmare fuel I absolutely hated the 3 act human xeno. That thing is gonna give me nightmares. 'Nough said. My gripes -They really do 'kill' the pregnant lady sooo many times. I thought for sure she'd make it. - Implied Incest? Gross, not a fan if it's true. - Rook didn't like his face or they way his mouth moved. They couldn't hired someone to make it look more seamless?

There's no denying that Violet evergarden's animation is beautiful. What I hate is the fact Violet getting together with her guardian figure/abuser is something to be celebrated! Gilbert was a grown adult when his brother brought him Violet. He could have taken her in and showed her how to be a child. But NO, he uses her as a weapon. This infuriates me, its never explained why he chose not to treat her as a child. Throughout the show and movie Violet thinks she's worthless. She over comes this in the show which I love. But this movie decided that putting an 18 year old, someone who is still figuring themselves out, with a at least 30 year old child groomer. Its disgusting and disappointing, Violet deserved better.
