I have no idea why people are raving about this movie. It was okay, maybe a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 but that's pushing it. The premise was weak, the music soundtrack WAY too loud and abrasive when it suddenly jumped into a scene. And this movie is filled with a ton of American boo-rah fist-pumping. The original wasn't trying to convince the world how great the USA was, it was just a disaster movie. I did like the diversity of the cast and there were some really good actors, but the script was way over the top. The original made sense. The sequel could have, but it never quite made it. And it never really pulled at my heart strings or made me worry about the leads getting killed. It may make a lot of money, but to my mind it's an opportunity missed.
