[Spoilers] There's been some criticism about this movie and how it doesn't stand up to the original. Please don't listen to these people, because I think they don't actually remember how bad and corny the original actually was. Don't get me wrong, there's good things about the old movie, but equally there's bad. The same can be said about this newer version. This movie did a pretty good job at explaining the lore behind the character, something the old movie lacked. I thought the story was really well done also, it kept me locked in and interested throughout. This version also had WAY better fight scenes! Is it a perfect movie? No. I think the soundtrack was a little off here and there, something the old movie definitely did better. I also wish they showed more of The Crows abilities like the old movie did. I didn't like the ending of this movie because it really didn't make any sense. It just raised more questions for me about whether or not the events of the movie actually happened. I think a better way to end it would have been having Shelly wake up somewhere along the river. That way it would have been more clear that the events of the movie actually did happen and Shelly is coming back from the dead after the events of the movie. But as I've said, as it stands I have no idea if the events of the movie happened. Was it all in Shelly's mind, was Shelly's soul sent back in time or an alternate dimension to when they were doing drugs with each other earlier, does that mean the movies villain is still alive? What did the ending actually mean? For that reason I've docked it 2 stars. I really felt like the writers were trying to do something deep with the ending, but failed to realize it really didn't make any sense and that sometimes less is more. Still, with that said; It's still an entertaining movie that I think is worth the watch.

I typically only write reviews for movies when they fall under either 5 stars, or 1 star. This movie is worth 5 stars, easily. The cast is great and they all really live up to their reputation as great actors, and the script was original and really well written. This movie really touched my heart and the ending made even tough ol' me tear up a bit. I can't recommend this movie enough to those that really like a good and original story. Do yourself a favor and don't pass on this movie.

I was hopeful that this would be a good comedy movie, just like they used to make. I was sadly disappointed. There were a couple of chuckles brought on by the absurdity of certain scenes, but overall the movie was extremely dull and displayed the importance of having a talented group of writers working on a comedy script. This movie seemed like it was written by high-school kids that are told they’re hilarious by their “cool Aunt” during family reunions. The worst part was the acting, though. There were a lot of moments where I just cringed because it was so bad. Speaking of the acting, if Brett Cooper’s performance is anything to go by, I sadly already know how bad their Snow White movie will be; top 5 worst acting performances I’ve seen in a movie. At multiple points I got up while keeping the movie playing and started doing chores. That’s how bad this movie was, I’d rather do chores than watch it.

It started off strong with some solid story telling and narrating. The movie quickly starts getting very boring very quick when you realize this is the same predictable story that's been done before. To make things worse, there is absolutely no personality behind any of the characters in the movie. Like, at all. I don't care what happened to whom because the story failed to allow us time to connect, relate, or be invested in any of the characters. There's no backstory, no context and no depth to the characters. Then they throw some old song from "The Smiths" because using songs from the 80's is very original. (Sarcasm) Oh, and then they do that new wave thing in films these days by adding "chapters" throughout the movie as if that will somehow make it more interesting or "artistic". All of these things combined make for an incredibly predictable, unoriginal and boring movie.
