This movie was horrible! I'm not sure what people are raving about. Unless you really love Barbie, this was a great place to nap. I found myself dozing off a couple of times. A few laughs could not cover a poorly written script that tried so hard to get people to see how Barbie should be synonymous with feminism. The set for Barbieland was impressive but that was the only thing. I tried to like it but come on. The plot was as empty as the character development. .

This movie was phenomenal! Will Smith made the movie as the genie but Princess Jasmine has a great song that made her endearing to the audience. Will Smith was funny and unexpectedly did a great job on his musical numbers. If you don’t leave the movie humming some of the tunes in your head, I’d be surprised. Me and my family loved it. My older son, 17 years old, said he could see it again several times. My 12 year old son was singing along with me and playing air drums. He wants to learn a couple of the dances. Bottom line is that it’s a family film that works well. My favorite movie of the year so far!
