From the lgbt community to the neurodiversity in the series I feel out of own experiences that the characters are more realistic. I am autistic myself and it was refreshing to see a 'normal' or more usual representation of autism. Compared to other shows we are usually only played by a really over dramatic 'autistic' person. I felt respected for once.
