The main character, Sergeyich, is very carefully drawn by the author. I loved this book. Sergey is likable. He lives a sparse and difficult life, but he is content and kind. I appreciate his love for his bees and how he cares for them. I think Sergey understands people and the world through his deep understanding of bees.

#1: Not that funny. #2: Laughtrack in place inappropriately and completely detracts from any dialogue that might be mildly funny.
