Super hated this movie.
I watched it with a big group of my family, all of us young at heart and lovers of good animated movies. And almost every single one of us thought Wish was trash.
I was actually kinda mad by the time it was over that I had spent actual money on it, and so I felt I had to sit through the whole thing.
It seemed like they put their beginner teams on it- you know, the ones who usually make simple, nonsense 20-minute shows for toddlers- and they never bothered to stop it from being a waste of time.
Extremely un-funny. There were several one-liners that were so lame and poorly delivered that by the time one single funny joke was uttered towards the end, I couldn't bring myself to laugh at all. The story was bland and boring, not enough backstory to care about any of the characters, had nonsense interactions, etc..
Villain was arguably the most reasonable character in the movie, but he was also extremely yawn-inducing. It lacked the energy, excitement, and silliness that makes a good animated movie.. good.
The star was worthless as a character. The songs were well-sung, but about as interesting as listening to a talented singer sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The morale and plot were, as a whole, bland and floaty and empty, the equivalent to "everyone is special."
I cannot convey how terrible I felt this movie was, but I'm glad some people thought it was.. "special."
Want to watch something interesting? Try Wonka instead, the best movie I've seen in a while.
