This is the third and most intense work I've read from this author. The lived experience of what we know is a horrific situation is shocking and heartrending. Every educated person with compassion understands historic colonialism; the agony it has wrought and the dehumanization it perpetuates. There are no words to encapsulate the nightmare thrust upon Palestine since 1948, and the suffering of peoples "othered" after 9/11. El Akaad has persisted as a journalist and truthteller through the ongoing propaganda war and has offered invaluable insights despite injuries from the shrapnel of manipulated narratives.
