I embraced this philosophy for many years before finally reading this book. Ownership, and my requirement of accountability from "Investors/ Leaders" has cost me several jobs over my 35+ year career, but the Team I'm currently accountable to/for is reading it and each of them now understands that doing the Right Thing and owning the consequences is axiomatic to achieving mutual benefit and Team growth.
WE are now even stronger as individual contributors, and have proven to "investors" that Our Team is extraordinary and profitable.
BUT
As a result of my requirement for accountability from the Owner/ Investor, who "identifies" as a Leader (and has mandated that this book is REQUIRED reading of all employees in all offices), my opportunity to lead my Team is now ended. I'm vindicated that my Team still has their careers, and I'm proud of them for embracing their personal accountability to the Team and for learning ro be the Best version of themselves. It has been my honor to serve them, and I'm humbled to know that they thought of me as their Leader.
This book, this life philosophy, is RIGHT; it's the derivative of functional ethics, and should be taught in schools starting in 9th grade.
