I read the book many many years ago and enjoyed it greatly. It is refreshing to learn again about the history and culture of Japan in the 15-17 century. The comparison between European and Japanese culture during this time frame is very interesting. The filming, costuming and acting is superb. The intrigue is very interesting. I am on episode 6 and thoroughly enjoying.

A movie about love on so many levels. The director brilliantly shows emotion through sound lighting facial expressions. There is so much tenderness and caring and acceptance. I enjoyed this thoroughly.
