I watched the film in Athens, Greece - they still have Intermission in Greek theaters. At Intermission, I walked out. The last scene I saw was Jimmy Hoffa in prison - that’s about 2 hours into the film. The theater was full on a Saturday night. As an American in an EU country, I was embarrassed by this film. To me it was the same mob gangster themes that Americans have seen over and over. The numerous killings were cold-blooded and without feeling. This is America? I was embarrassed for our country that not only do we have a criminal and philanderer as president, but our “greatest movie ever” according to critics shows American society as equally heartless and corrupt. I love all the lead characters for many of their other films (and Trump impersonations) but I’m sad that this film + Trump represent America to the world!
