Watched this on Sunday. A brilliant horror sci-fi-like.
Pros:
- Modern cinematography (a great number of eccentric shots and visuals)
- Gripping scenes especially of the ''UFO'', like a medusa vibe.
- Excellent energetic characteristics especially Keke Palmer and Brandon Perea.
- Well-scripted uses of "Nope" and eye glancing particularly Daniel Kaluuya.
- Olden-day-type e.g. the record player, the house, the carnival (theme park) which I saw in Get Out with the TV set, the couch, etc.
Cons:
- The film dragged on
- Daniel Kayluu's OJ character did not do much only picked up near the end
- No dialogue about the horses, the branch, or the family.
- No clarification as to what happened to the ''UFO'' at the end.
The storyline could have expanded a little (such as the ''UFO''; why does it have to be fed? why did it target the ranch and the family? Jupe; what deal did he make? and what did OJ know that others didn't about the horse? hence not allowing anyone to make contact)
Overall, joyful props to Peele's third film.
