I think the movie was ok.. that being said it takes the audience on a very loosely put journey through the turmoil of interracial relationships and the misunderstandings that they bring. But to be honest, and this can be taken whichever way one would like to take it, the movie definitely leaned on a more aggressive approach towards white people and made the notion that black culture is better or more important in many ways and I feel in a movie trying to promote the coming together of races and culture… that’s kind of counterproductive. At the end of the day it’s an alright movie but definitely hypocritical at times.

I absolutely hated how Ginny’s character was especially in the second season. Hugely over dramatic and impulsive. And it made Ginny out to be oppressed when the whole time she was never oppressed? Not a fun watch.
