Great acting as always with Tom Hanks! I think it was an excellent storyline showing the reflections of life in younger years while now being older and alone. That aspect is very realistic. I'm sure if you're reading this review, you may be wondering why I only gave it one star.
I agree with what another reviewer said. You can't have the consistencies of an older conservative man growing up in the 60s and 70s without also having old fashioned values and morals. He has a problem with stray cats, people driving across the lawn and just about every neighbor and animal. Clearly old school. But somehow, he has no issue with a girl pretending to be a boy. When he met the transgender kid, the ideal scene should have went something like this. " Your wife was Mrs. Anderson. She was my teacher. She was the only one who cared enough to get me the help I needed when I was suffering with gender dysphoria? Because of her, I finally got well and learned to embrace my biological sex.". Then Otto would have said "what the hell is gender dysphoria? never mind, I'm glad you got to help you needed."
After that scene I had to shut the movie off because I'm not going to support Hollywood's woke indoctrination system. I recommend not watching the movie in order to make an example of it.
