It is a fun way to practice French with audio and subtitles In French. It does stretch the imagination a tad but I learned about Dr. Guillotin because I read about his life because of the movie. Also there is a general revelation about certain abuses which caused not only the French but many other people to overthrow their rulers. A bit too bloody and violent for me, but so are a lot of other films. In any art form, one finds what one wants or does not want. It is art. That's what it's all about, Alfie.
