Still unsure if this movie raises awareness for ivory poaching or diabetes. Much like the writers' approach, I'm being liberal with giving this movie 1 star. That's not meant as insulting, these guys really earned it. I mean, how the hell was that guy still wearing that watch?? They TIED his hands together and didn't think to take the rich oil man's watch!? I just don't think so.
I didn't google to see if Rebecca Romijn is diabetic or not, but she really nailed the role! Big part, biiiiig part of her characters persona. I'm not kidding either. Watch it. She almost dies from diabetes in the African savannah. Not from the dumbest (yes, dumbest) hyena pack in Africa. Not the aggressive-but-not-too-hungry leopard. Not even from psycho poachers, constant thirst, or frequent urination. Just plain 'ol diabetes, because she hadn't had a shot of insulin in almost 8 hours.
I did however, really like the part where the lil rhino behind the fence, jumps up and down excitedly when it sees the family. It let me know that it remembers them from that one time it saw them...when it's mom got killed...for her ivory...right after she got done bashing the family's van to death...for looking at her baby.
I have no regrets.
