the story is more a romanticisation of French culture than a really ww2 story. the author tries all the time to prove she speaks French, using terms in French unnecessarily and mentioning Paris places (is this book made for Parisian people only?). I really don't recommend reading American story books at all, most of them are written like this book, focusing mostly in romanticisation than accuracy or the story itself. however, at least the messages given are useful.
