This book was fantastic. Truly, utterly fantastic. It’s literary gold. There’s something so fascinating about old English and classics. They’re written with such profound emotion and professionalism. If you’re looking for a book that’ll really have you reeled in, look no further. If I was too explain why this is such a great book, I’d be here forever. That is how much I enjoyed it. The plot is fabulous, the odd and mysterious man of riches, Jay Gatsby, and his time in one gorgeous Long Island summer on the Gold Coast, falling in love with a long lost lover, a beautiful part of his past. There’s so much allusion in this book, the characters are so unique, the plot will really have you up in arms. If you want a classy, short but blissful read, this book IS for you. Ps: Do not watch the movie. It seriously does the book so much injustice.

The book was a fantastic read in my personal opinion. The Catcher In The Rye is a very controversial book due to the main character, Holden Caulfield. I’d say it takes a certain person to read and fully grasp the contents of this book, as some people detest it, whilst other people really favor it, such as myself. Holden Caulfield is not the greatest guy alive and in fact, he’s quite the opposite. The book is narrated in his perspective and is basically a down spiral of events in Holden’s life within the span of a few days. Holden shows to have depression throughout the book and constantly talks about how he hates everyone, but is afraid of being alone. This book was all too familiar to me and I think that’s why I like it so much. Holden reminds me of how I was in my middle school years. Honestly, if you read through the book and stick to it, you really start to feel and understand what Holden is going through. In this down fall, he is unable to catch himself, he doesn’t know how to fix his life and is too burnt out and unmotivated to do so. The character development is definitely what makes this book a great one. Seriously suggest giving it a chance, read it and understand, you won’t be disappointed. J. D. Salinger is quite the genius.
