I was interested in this book when I read it was based on true events but as I began to read it, I quickly changed my mind. It read like a Harlequin Romance novel. Why is it necessary to be so descriptive about two people being intimate? Why is it necessary to be so descriptive about rape? I skimmed through the first two chapters and stopped. I didn’t get the sense of an historical based novel. This disappointed me.
