Though the acting wasn’t the best, this was well done for a legacy sequel. The bad acting fit the trope of other horror movie franchises, so I can’t hate too much on that. The murder scenes were entertaining, and without spoiling anything, I will say I was somewhat surprised at the end. Definitely worth a watch if you’ve seen the original from 1997. If you have not seen the original, watch it first. If you don’t, you probably will not think this is a good horror movie. Other reviews seem to say the cameos were unnecessary. If you actually watched this movie at all, or listened and followed the plot, then it’s obvious that bringing back some of the original cast was completely necessary. Otherwise, this would have been a completely different movie, different storyline, different ending. This movie would have been a total flop if it were a remake instead of a legacy sequel.

Fantastic! Definitely was a slow-moving feminist movie, yet it made me feel unsettled throughout its entirety and I was completely enthralled. It’s difficult to express how good this movie truly is without giving important details away, but if you’re at all intrigued I highly recommend watching Watcher.
