This is really tough on one hand Namkoong Min absolutely steals the show. Every single scene he's simply imperious and even saying that it just doesn't seem enough. But on the other hand as good as his character is the fact that he falls in 'love' with Eun Jin Ahn is just so annoying 😳 The dichotomy of the two characters is so far apart as to be almost insurmountable. A world weary jack of all trades who has seen the very worst of humanity. And a kid who has seen nothing experienced nothing and yet to all and sundry she portrays the font of all wisdom. The parallels with Emma are there but the difficulty is that Eun's character is so unlikeable not just to Namkoong but literally the entire village! 😂 The question is what the hell about this girl is so captivating? Unless that was a magic swing she was riding?

What do you say about Taylor Sheridan and his ability as an American Storyteller. Maybe the best way to explain this unique point of difference is what the US churns out typically and what Taylor Sheridan produces? McDonalds vs InNOut or KFC vs Chick-fil-A were talking basically the same thing but the end result and audience reaction are worlds apart. Yellowstone is Great, 1883 is Amazing but 1923 is just truly Incredible. The writing, the acting, the script, the cinematography and the soundtrack its all just so perfect. Spencer and Alexandra are simply mesmerizing together on screen. If anyone was at risk of getting pregnant by virtue of a look it was Alexandra when she first meets Spencer. Spencer: There’s no romance in it. Alexandra: Then why do you do it? Spencer: Because dying is the most alive you’ll ever feel. Alexandra: You don’t see the romance in that?

This is not a Rom Com that's way to simplistic a portrayal for a TV Show that rings absolutely every emotion possible. The actors were just outstanding and for this show not to be nominated at the Golden Globes is a travesty.
