I wanted to like it more but the black trauma dump felt like lazy writing, I stopped watching. The debilitating anxiety attacks, living in the hood of Chicago, fatherless, friendless, attitude, bad relationship with her mother, no money...oh but she's a genius. Like cmon , it's 2025 that type of storyline is PLAYED OUT. They make wonder woman powerful, sexy, wealthy...money not even a mention.... but the black female superhero has to be rooted in struggle even when shes a genius. Smh. This is not black representation. Why can't we just have a black character winning, I mean it's based on superheroes, why was it necessary to bring in the trauma and poverty? The writers don't do that with other superheroes. Black women deserve to sit back and enjoy the fantasy world of superheros without marvel trying to slip in systemic failure.
