It's an erotica.
Whatever else all the 5* reviews say is maybe 2% of the book. All the coming from abusive home and dealing with that past is only because the author needed a backdrop for the emotionally stunted main characters to come together.
I have read my share of eroticas but felt like puking halfway through it. Maybe because I had not picked it up expecting this.

The promising cast was let down by the preposterous story line. Did not even turn out to be a satire.
The heroine insults and throws the hero out of his own flat. Tries to illegally occupy his property. Constantly misbehaves with his father.
But the hero is infatuated by her all through the movie.
The heroine just won't give way. And the hero then beats the hell out of her. And literally molests her. And then there is a happy ending.

The Second Season.
I am sure in a country of "brown" people obsessed with movies, they could have found a dark skinned girl who could have acted as well.
And "Chellam" = Deus Ex Machina = An unexpected power or event saving a seemingly hopeless situation, especially as a contrived plot device in a play or novel.
The writers used this device, not once, not twice, but through out the series! Why so lazy!
