I found this film maybe 8 years ago, watched it one Christmas Eve afternoon while the family were out, with no real expectations. I really liked it, in fact it became my favourite Christmas film which I have watched every year at Christmas since. I recommend not paying attention to reviews of Christmas films. They don't need clever plots, complex characters or special effects, all a good Christmas film needs is to make you feel good and have a bit of that Christmas magic.
