The last two books by this author were disappointing (as if written for Hollywood?), but this is a return to form. Ordinary Australians with relatable lives disrupted by an unusual situation. I understand the negative reviews, but I don't agree. Having so many stories intertwined was necessary to illustrate the effects one moment can have on so many lives (butterflies and hurricanes). It asks the question whether outcomes are predetermined or if fate can be altered, but leaves the interpretation up to the reader. Read it quickly to keep track of all the threads. I found it heartbreaking.
