Sure, the show is a bit heavy-handed with its message at times, especially in the first few episodes. However, I do not believe this show deserves the 3 stars it has been given. I believe that rating is a reflection of the division of our society, the same division this show aims to bring to the forefront of our minds in order to confront it.
I believe that the message of this show is of the utmost importance to our future as a nation. Let us not forget who our true enemies are, the powerful ones who divide us against each other while they reap all of the profit at the expense of our lives and resources. The show reminds us that left or right, we are all the same so we should unite in working against those who oppress us, divide us over trivial issues, and then turn us against each other (instead of the real culprits) with misinformation while they laugh all the way to the bank.
There will always be another billionaire. Do not fall for the red herring of the benevolent billionaire outlier in a system built by the few for the few. The answer is not to violently take out one billionaire at a time. The answer is to reform and regulate the system that allows billionaires to exist in the first place. How we’ll get there when they have already rigged the system in their favor is anyone’s guess. Hot-headed revolution is not the answer, the cycle will only be repeated, just look at history. Cooler, intelligent heads must prevail through the power of the masses who employ patience, time, and decisive action in order to reform the system.
Oh, and Colman Domingo provided a truly marvelous, thought-provoking, heart-rending performance of a deeply complex man bravo 👏 🙄… he was great, but what is truly pertinent to our future lies above
