It covers a different culture in a absolutely American lens. The plot seems to be created with no research done and no consultation of people who live in Shenzhen and know. If not assuming presumed ignorance and innocence, it would come across as biased and offensive . Other than the dad who is a HK actor, none come across as a Cantonese. They look like Asians but more like Philippines, malaysians or Indonesians. Overall a good topic but it is wasted with no depth in the characters . There are so many opportunities to do a better job. I feel sorry.
