I stopped at episode 3. Like others have said, I understand there will be adaptations to make a TV series, but the changes made from the book change the integrity of the story in my opinion. Ms. Frank had always showed disdain towards Elizabeth, not just after she was pregnant. The beauty pageant? What's the purpose of that?? Mrs. Sloan was older and in a loveless marriage so was looking for reasons to get out of the house. Where were the rowing scenes? That was such an integral part of the book and it's boiled down to a single prescription from the doc? How'd he know she'd be a good two seat if he'd never actually seen her row?
The book was phenomenal and I don't want to ruin my memory of it by watching this poor adaptation. It's right down there with Eragon the movie in my opinion. And come on... A labradoodle?? What police dogs have you seen that were labradoodles? And besides, they weren't even around yet in the 50s.
