The Silent Patient is about Theo, a therapist who becomes obsessed with his patient, Alecia, who, after killing her husband, took an oath of silence and refused to speak. What follows is a journey of how Theo gets Alecia to finally speak, and the consequences of what she has to say.
The pacing of the story was good to me. It was long enough to build the story and the suspense, but not too long that the story dragged out. The twists of the story were satisfying as well, looking back, I see hints of them and I never would have guessed what the twist was.
Overall, this is an interesting read about love and redemption - what happens to someone when their love is spurned from the people closest to them? The only reason this is four out of five stars is that none of the characters are really likable, there are no real heroes in this story.
