I love the five. But it is not called “Home Ec”. Years ago the title was changed to “ Family & Consumer Sciences”. I happen to be certified in home Economics Education(circa 1974). For 35 yrs I worked in Food manufacturing but when I retired I went back and taught under Family and Consumer Sciences teaching Culinary Arts I, II, III, IV. But under he umbrella of F & C Sciences. We taught, child Care, Foods and Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Clothing , budgeting and much more. All teachers teach literacy, and math. I am a big supporter of the trades and would teach an entire session on careers & trade professions.
