Just finished watching Laila Majnu, and while it is portrayed as an outstanding love story, I realised that it’s not really a “love story.” It is about a person losing themselves in the process of decorating their dream (aim) in the best way possible. It might be named as obsession, or madness, but there’s not really a proper word for it in the dictionary. And the irony is, each and every one of us has that one thing that we lose our true self for, it might be a lover, but mostly it comes in different forms, such as professional aims, a goal, or sometimes something as small as good grades. By the time you achieve this dream in physicality, this dream rises far above reality and takes your obsession to another level which cannot be achieved in the human form.
