it had so much potential! with a great story build up and i liked the cinematography too, lots of nice frames i even paused to admire. i loved how it was going for the first hour, until the last 30 minutes of this film made me so incredibly upset simply because of how absurd and ridiculous they are.
SPOILERS from here on!
the buildup of the protagonist wanting to reveal the truth and working so hard to get it was thrown down the drain over such stupid reasons in the film. sally goes to meet the 'reporter' who she's never met before and all jack does is wire her? it doesn't once cross his mind to maybe go WITH her to meet the man he's suspicious of? and the entire car scene was absolutely absurd. sally's death lacked a lot of logic, and the whole ending felt pretty rushed. the characters themselves felt pretty one dimensional too. perhaps i see it all from a very modern perspective, but the last act and its ending made the whole film feel like a mere 2.5, 3 stars at best for me. a real shame!
