I absolutely loved this film. First of all, one can never go wrong anytime Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown are in the mix. They are phenomenal. The movie was not what I expected, I was ready for a fun comedy. This movie was thought provoking. My teenager was not a fan. If you’re interested in an honest review of self/the individual, relationships, those held in high regard, and community… this film was a great case study for that and with just enough funny to keep me entertained as opposed to just sad and disgusted. Ultimately, I think it endeavors to consider the masks we wear to get through…or ahead and the cost of doing so. Someone noted that it may have been better to watch at home…I would concur. Not a movie buff but perhaps the production of this film would have translated better at home. I will be streaming it.
