The first time i read the giver on my own i HATED IT!!!! I thought it was the worst book EVER. But then i was forced to read it again with my class, and this time i thought it was less repulsive. Then i changed schools and i was forced to read it AGAIN! i actually enjoyed it but i still was shocked at how(spoiler coming) they killed the underdeveloped kids. (SPOILER ENDS). I also didn't like the ending. In fact i thought he died. LOL. Then i switched school AGAIN and i was forced to read it all over again. That last time however i love it and when i found out there was a sequel i was ecstatic. I highly recommend it, because i LOVE the plot twists and i cant believe that when i first read the fist part of the book i thought Jonas was LUCKY to live in such a community. Now i see my mistake. Read it multiple time. Its a deep book. You can't get everything the first time.
