I love this film. It is archetypically 1980s escapism at its best. Kathleen Turner is fabulous as the hapless Joan Wilder and Michael Douglas is smarmy, swarthy and desperately trying to be Errol Flynn! Diane Thomas was a great writer and very much underestimated. Such a shame that her life was cut short.

Sure, it's not as slick as the first film (Romancing the Stone) but it is funny, at times silly and still enjoyable.
