Ugh. This is the first Kristin Hannah book that I have not liked. It felt like Hannah wrote the first half and then handed it off to some poly sci grad student to finish. There is no way for me to offer specific criticism without spoilers, but I thought the last half was incredibly forced (borderline cringy, at times), especially the underdeveloped love connection.
