There's no sugarcoating this; The storyline is bland and predictable, the characters lack any depth and the acting is just so bad. The script feels like ChatGPT wrote it, and the cringey jokes do not make it any better.
Because the characters didn't have any depth and no connection to the viewer at all, it didn't make me feel anything when the ghost or monster was going after them. No fear, no suspense. It was just boring, and the movie itself relied on predictable jumpscares.
The only thing I really enjoyed is the different forms the Astrologer took, and the art on the tarot cards themselves.
(spoilers ahead.)
After the first death, all the friends mourn but after Lucas dies, everyone just forgets what emotions are and they're just like ehh. Speaking of the first death, poor girl was smashed by a ladder and the police did not suspect any foul play??? That's just absurd.
There are so many plot holes and it's just so predictable. It follows the cliche horror movie format, the same script copy and paste. They make such unintelligent choices, like how Madeline ran from the car when 4 of hers friends were literally with her, just because. It didn't even seem like she had a specific direction or place to go, she just ran for the sake of it.
It all became such a mess when it came down to just Grant and Haley, and somehow Haley used logic instead of fighting the Astrologer, which was a surprise, because WHY WASN'T HARLEY DEAD YET??
And as for the Astrologer, she just gets to walk scot-free, frolicking in the fields with her daughter because she did what she did because she was feeling angry and sad because the Count killed her daughter. I mean, does it make sense? She doesn't have to take any responsibility for the lives she has taken? She was just a sweet lady grieving her child? Pathetic.
In the last scenes 3 friends are seen singing and even laughing as they ride off. That seems pretty weird, since (I think) 4 friends of their were brutally murdered in a span of less than a week.
The plot is stale, the script is horrible and the acting is mediocre.
