To all of the ridiculous copy and paste reviewers…you reveal yourselves to be the unnamed villains in the film, an insidious and malignant cancer within our democratic body politic. Your inability to think critically, to express an actual, organized thought, makes you the perfect MAGA dupe, voting against your own best interests AND for the end of our 240 year old (and imperfect) democratic experiment.
For better or worse I find that I write these reviews more as responses to others I've read, so here goes...
* I'm pretty sure an inspiration for the film's plot line [mistrust leading to destabilization] was a 1959 Twilight Zone episode called, "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street." Check out the episode or read a synopsis to see what you think.
* Those folks blasting characters who don't conform to standard expectations - well, you've got to get out of your comfort zone. They're not written to make you feel all warm and cozy inside. You remind me of someone purchasing a painting to match their living room drapes.
* And once more, the warm and cozy crowd needing the story to be tied together with a bright bow on top - why? That's not challenging. Clearly, at least to me, the great cinematography, the unexplained phenomena and the unanswered questions all served to place the viewers in the film - not as spectators but experiencing it as the characters were. George's character, as well connected as he was, nevertheless was as much in the dark as the rest of those interacting during the fateful first two days.
* As for the sheep copying & pasting that well-intentioned but misinformed review as well as those suspicious of or critical of the Obamas production credits - well, the irony here is as thick and rich as a New York cheesecake. Some of that socio-political commentary was spot on, as difficult as it may be to hear. If you don't think things are gonna go south, well, see how that goes for you in the next 20 years...
