I think while it's lacks certain plots points, (some back story would have been nice), it pays tribute to many of the classics and how they were written. Often times the villain was simply the villain. The references and some of the jokes clearly are going to go over the heads of the younger generations, it gives nostalgia to many of us and the older generations. It was a spiritual journey about keeping your eyes and your heart open, a traditional throw back, to "good and love always wins.
