The idea of students getting caught up in a Shakespearean drama is cool, but the execution was really off. Richard's sudden bad behavior and the group's decision to let him drown felt unrealistic. It made no sense for all six classmates to agree on letting him die, especially given their close relationships with him. The female characters were poorly developed, mainly serving as objects or plot devices, especially Meredith, who was always objectified.Filippa and Wren had no depth either, just filling necessary roles without any real character development. The writing felt pretentious, with dialogue that was stiff and unrealistic. The story was predictable, with major plot points being obvious from early on.
