Wonderful performances, the songs were a bit draggy but what can we expect from a musical. Having read the book after seeing the original movie based on the book I admit disappointment while watching the musical. The original movie has been my favorite movie for as long as I can remember. The musical should not be compared to the original movie. It is by no means a “Remake” but is the Musical version of the book, which is the original story. The question is whether a musical version needed to be told. I personally like a good musical, however the artists were great the musical rendition in my opinion is not. They will make the money but I could have skipped this one.
