The new Batman flick is very exceptional, deserving of the definite article in its title. The Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan was fantastic, but this is Batman. It's the right one. The one that fans are familiar with. Before reshaping a criminal's face with his fists, he uses his detective talents to solve problems. Yes, it's a touch long, The Riddler's riddles aren't the most difficult to solve, and the finale is a little lackluster, but this is the Batman film we've been waiting for – a dark noir thriller featuring a mad billionaire who dresses up as a bat. We can finally put this franchise to rest now that they've nailed it.
