The sci fi is fascinating, but is really only the back drop for a compelling storyline. The machinations, intrigue, and moral dilemma get very deep. Three pronged conflicts are always complicated and successfully depicting multiple superimposed layers of struggle is very difficult for any series to pull off! The diverse casting adds to the concept that maybe someday we can get past our current hang ups
