I never was a "Cats" (stage musical) fan ... but hell, after I saw the movie now I think the original show is great ... my god what an awful and pretentious movie ... worst of all, it destroys a lot of the message and plot of the Broadway musical ... and many of the numbers had a bad development or clumsy changes plus an incredible CGI that looks very astonishing but revolting at the same time ... Unfortunately I can't rate "zero stars"

They had the guts to use the original ending from the book, but they put so much sugar in it that you could suffer from hyperglycemia and that's means not exactly a "bittersweet ending" ... Octavia Spencer had more charisma and appealing as the grandmother than Jahzir Bruno as the grandson (the boy) but she's too young for the character (sugar formula) ... the "girl in the picture" tale was replaced with a whatever generic "transformation" story ... sadly the Anne Hathaway's characterization and physique had a lack of authority and intimidation, but she tried, maybe that "big puppy dog eyes" wasn't correctly used by the director to express more menacing and evil with charm... At the end this movie is not great, is very average with a lot of distracting color lights ... good for the family as a disposable entertainment? yes ... a Classic? Nope ...

An incredible waste of time ... the movies from China about Mulan are far better than this joke ... I'm not sure if this Disney attempt to do something for a "Chinese audience" was supervised by some "Chinese culture consultant" because it looks like he/she was sleeping during the production ... and that's very sad because usually Chinese movies made in China or Hong Kong are usually entertaining but this movie made (in part) in China with "non chinese main crew" is underwhelmed and forgettable ...
