I agree with Shouvik Ghosh about this movie. I have not seen RDJ in the Iron Man things but have watched him in the two Sherlock Holmes movies he made with Jude Law. What fun! And what adventures!
Mr. Downey Jr. brings a lovely subtlety and a fine twist to his characters and they become the real interpretation of whatever characters he chooses to play. A real artist. How great is that?
Also I too fail to understand why reviews for this version of Dr Dolittle are so negative. I don't know how many times this movie has been made but it's got the 1 iwith Rex Harrison beat. This is delightful and (yes) tragic but like other life in the food chain––that's life; ride the wave.
The world is turning upside down. And we need this kind of movie desperately. It's very great that and we need more movies like this. It tells us about morality and kindness without getting up the nose. It's a pleasure. With Dr. Dolittle we are in the proper place on the evolutionary chain; NOT on top but somewhere in the middle with the other animals as our brothers and sisters.
Please keep on doing what you're doing. And I'd love to see more movies like this. Thanks so much.
