1 or 2 spoilers ahead. Be warned.
So disappointed. Being a massive fan of the series, I think it’s a joke that they decided ending it like this would be acceptable. Having enjoyed the halloween reboot and kills, I was really looking forward to Micheal’s epic conclusion….except he is nowhere to be seen.
Micheal shows up for about 10 minutes of the film, with most of the screen time being given to an extremely unlikeable, newly introduced character trying to imitate him while he rots in a sewer. It’s like having Halo without the Master Chief, or Spider-Man without Peter Parker.
The ‘epic’ conclusion lasts about 7 minutes, with the man, the myth and the legend that is Micheal Myers; a supernaturally powerful man, evil incarnated, who may I remind you has survived being shot at, stabbed, burned and run over multiple times to name a few, is physically overwhelmed and killed by an old woman and her quite ordinary granddaughter in minutes.
The whole thing was a massive letdown. Of course Laurie was always going to win, but send Micheal out with a fight! With blood, guts and a trail of bodies behind him! To treat Micheal the way they have and make him a weak pushover and a sideshow in a film series where he is the main man, when people come to see him at his evil, terrifying, gory best, makes me so angry and disappointed.
